BOPIO provides guidance, inspiration, and mentoring to help people set up and run their own local BOPIO groups. This volunteer-led network connects communities and hubs around the world, sharing ideas and experiences so people can learn from one another.

It also works with other organisations to influence policy and promote the message of positive change more widely. While each BOPIO group operates independently, BOPIO Network International supports this work by offering training, advice, and a sense of connection between communities working towards the same goal.

At the international level, the work is organised using sociocracy—a collaborative way of making decisions. Instead of just having a boss or using majority votes, sociocracy ensures that everyone has an equal voice. People listen to each other, share ideas, and make decisions only when there are no serious objections. This helps build cooperation, respect, and makes sure quieter voices are heard and valued too.
